We have this exact aircraft with the nose fittings in our movie "Panzer 88".  Nice to see a render of somebody thinking along identical lines.  Good job.

sorry i just couldn't keep the secret any longer. seriously man it's a great image of a technology that was so strangely ahead of it's time. i don't think it would have ever been built if the luftwaffe had not been forced to desperate measures. can you imagine what those guys would have thought of a b-2?

Actually the B2 constructors took a good luck at the remains of a HO 229.
But lets not forget that the US also had a designer of Nurflügel (Monowing) Planes in the Person Northrop.

Nope, those are actually radio-guided missiles, usually used for anti shipping near the end of the war. Another thing the Nazi's had that the allies didn't get until much later.

Also from the painting, they had low visibility simplified markings, something the US didn't get into till the late 1970's

Ok... thought the tail section didn't match the V1 just right. I've seen footage of those in action. Scary stuff.

Liking this. Some parts are a bit odd but nothing too bad. Modeled this in 1/32, 48th, 72nd and even 1/144th, its that much a fave.

The Single seat 229, with Nightfighter radar. Plus a way too heavy missile load.

I have never been however, what people at hobby shows and conventions call a "Rivet Counter" I'll always go with a fun story over tech specs' anyday.

Early guided missiles. 4 is a heavy load for a fighter though. Still a fun picture though.

The scenarios on the TV documentaries about the Horten show a 229 raiding the Chain Home Radars. In this painting, I would imagine it doing an intruder mission, mixing with the returning bombers only to hit their airfield.
