Mister Ed by Rob-Caswell Mister Ed by Rob-Caswell
Comamder Ed Straker, head honcho of SHADO, from Gerry Anderson's first live action series, '69's "UFO". Head morph is mostly by Werts, but I did some tweaking of my own to (I hope?) improve the likeness further.

DAZ Studio render.

I think it looks great! Any fan of the show could tell this is Cmdr Straker even without any titles. As I'm watching the series on DVD and especially the first season for the first time, I am very impressed at just how good the shows are and what a good actor Ed Bishop is. It really is a shame the show didn't continue on for more than 2 seasons.

This is a show that if done well, ala Battlestar Galactica could prove to be a good one to have a reimagined version done with. And if so they better come see your work and hire you as creative consultant! And seriously consider your UFO 2KK material.

Well there's supposedly a movie in the works, but I kind of think it got stalled out.

I would be interested in the movie if it was done well and respectful, if even reimagined. Ala: the new version of Battlestar Galactica ( I SOO love this version of Galactica, and do have aal the Galactica available on DVD, even the classic and yep, Galactica 1980(still pretty awful, but some how, less awful than I remember. I still hate the Galactica motorcycles, and the overall cheesiness and cornballness of that show. But, it did have a few somewhat cool moments and ideas.).

They're both classics in their way.... at least the first season of 1999. the second season got more shallow. But UFO... that's a show I still admire, respect, and enjoy (when I have some time to kill before bedtime ;) ).

UFO was, no, *IS* really cool and the DVD set I have has a really excellent quality. So it is pleasure to watch it.

The first season of 1999 has a more classic scifi aproach to it. The second season is more like a "B-movie" with all that Maya-monster-transformations.

If I remember correctly every boy in school at that time wanted to be chief pilot Alan Carter =D =D =D LOL and I still think that the design of the Eagle is a timeless classic  Love it :)

He was tough - arrogant to jerks, friendly to most people - and had THE best ride!!!

Have you ever noticed how even in his live action shows, Gerry Anderson's actors/characters look like SUPERMARRIONATION puppets?

In this series, yes. Space 1999,not so much. I always liked the close up shots of the hands in all the shows.

can't say much about the likeliness,..but he looks like a great character.
maybe I'm going to make a little research after that series.
Up to then I'm admiring your great composition for a while.

"Very sixties" means a direct hit! :D
It was a very good series, in its day - in many ways it was ahead of its time. But then I guess all GOOD science fiction should be, by definition ;)

ahead of time, but only in terms of the way of story-telling and visionary techniques and such.
but the stories we are calling the best are mostly classical :)

Great likeness. UFO was a great series in some ways, superb special effects, and some rich, dark storylines too.

Yeah, it's certainly an often overlooked SF classic that still has good traction (and style!) today. If only we'd had jackets like this in 1980 instead of those damn leisure suits! ;p

Happy to be an Anderson Evangelist! It really is a show that stands up remarkably well with time, even if it was set in 1980. It went from great SF to great alt. history! ;p
