Murcheson's Eye - stock by Rob-Caswell Murcheson's Eye - stock by Rob-Caswell
Another starfield experiment - this one trying to evoke Murcheson's Eye from the Niven/Pournelle novel "The Mote in God's Eye". Hope you can find a use for it - ENJOY!

Created in Photoshop.

Sorry, I don't have a tutorial for this. Or at least not yet ;) It was really a process of going into Photoshop and keep throwing things at the canvas until it looks good :) I hope you can find some use for this piece in your own work!

A very long time ago. I think it is worth a re-reading. Since I don't have the book anymore, I am going to add it to my used book wish list. It should be easy to find.

Sullied...LOL!
I *wish* a kindle was in my future. Alas, my online store is not doing well right now and my art is not selling at all (I had a deal fall through). But, perhaps, by Yule, things will be better.

Sullied...*giggle*...You crack me up.

As long as they remember to do a good screenplay, too!?! There are too many "good looking" SF films out there today with otherwise vapid writing backing it up. I'd love to see something meaty like Mote with a proper script treatment on the big screen. And CG moties would just be so ultracool!

Oh yes.... both should go to the top of your reading queue.... if only before they get too obsolete :) Mote makes copious use of "hand computers" - essentially tablet PCs before they had a name.
