If I recall correctly, the original cover had the Enterprise hovering just over an airless planet, with figures in spacesuits "beaming down" right under the secondary hull. In that pic, the Enterprise looked to be about the size of the Archer class(?!!) Talk about artistic license...Cool pic, until you realze she's supposed to be closer to CVN-65 in length, not a World War One four-piper destroyer. Oh, well. As far as that goes, the cover for the first volume had flaming exhaust coming from the warp nacelles and shuttlebay. Today's artists (and art directors) tend to be much greater sticklers for accurately portraying the book's contents, thank goodness! Ditto for you, Arcas!
