This actually wasn't the image I'd originally planned... or secondarily planned!This assignment was tough, not because #9 lacked stories with good visual inspiration, but it had maybe too many... from "Immunity Syndrome" and "Obsession", to "The Ultimate Computer" and "Return of the Archons". The choices were many and obvious. But instead I chose to portray the Enterprise, loaded with the M-5 computer and a skeleton crew, leaving the starbase for trials. The Lexington is docked at the base, in the background, before rendezvousing with the rest of the ill-fated task force.

One thing Remastered was able to do was make the Trek universe seem more diverse and populated. I wanted to capture some of that by using the station and showing other ships (including the Huron, docked at the base delivering cargo). So it's a rather placid (but hopefully attractive?!) image for an episode whose climax is anything but.
