The Cataclysm by Rob-Caswell The Cataclysm by Rob-Caswell
The USS Taranis and USS Rama bear witness to a rare collision of moons after a planetary system is disrupted by the close pass of a cold, drifting neutron star.

This thing's impact is PRIMARILY due to the outstanding visionary skills of QAuZ qauz.deviantart.com/ who created the background image in this 3D-2D composite. The rest of the credit goes to the modelers:

U.S.S. Taranis is the Odin class model by Kenny Mitchell axeman3d.deviantart.com/ (www.kennyscrap.com).
Archer class scout mesh created by Mark Azevedo - www.3dmaz.com. Ship design by Masao Okazaki. Poser/DS conversion and enhancement by Ptrope w/ texture support by me.
Galileo shuttlecraft model by Raul Mamouru with Poser conversion by Mattymanx (www.trekmeshes.ch).

DAZ Studio and Photoshop.

This is stunning!

I'm curious, I know that Archer class ships only have a crew of 14, how many does the Odin class have?

GOD bless

Not really sure what the Odin would crew out with.... maybe 40-60?

One of my favorites is the Nova class. (80).

If I served on a starship I would prefer a small ship, as long as it has a holodeck!

GOD bless

Nicely done! I know you give a lot of credit to those who created the fantastic element of this, but I also like the way you put them together. That tiny shuttle back there really helps set the scale of it all.

The specialists in Stellar Cartography will be working overtime to update their charts, muttering about how this sort of thing seems to happen on a weekly basis...

And (importantly) off the landing-party roster. Blue shirts don't die as often as red shirts do, but why take the risk?? :D

I think I'm often happiest with pieces that have a bold color statement like this. They just feel more.... complete and tuned to me.

I agree Arcas, the picture's full impact is mostly attributed to the background that you used, but I will say that you are the artist that put everything together, so kudos to you.

Very cool. Well done.
