As many of you may have noticed, I haven't been around DA much in the last couple of months. That "real life" thing has been demanding my time - family, business, and whatnot. Darn that whatnot!!! So the way things have gone this is probably my "year end update".

HOSTING MY ART OFF SITE

For those who've been featuring my art off-site at places like Facebook, PLEASE be sure to do the following. First, if you're hosting the art elsewhere be sure to include the full credits list that I've included here. There are a number of talented and generous folks out there sharing their art assets for free. All they ask in exchange is that credit. It's part of my "contract" with them, so please be sure to include any/all relevant credits.

Second, if you'd like to host the work off site, please ask me first. Let me know where you'd like to host it and which pieces. I'm usually fine with folks doing this, but asking permission is both the safest and most courteous option. Thanks for your help on both these points… and thanks for supporting my work!

SEEKERS

I just turned in the cover art for the first two Star Trek: Seekers books. I'm not sure when I can roll out the imagery here? The books will be released next July and August. I'm hoping to be able to display the work in public before that time, but I'll need to double check with the publisher on timing. Meanwhile I can tell you that cover 1 features the USS Sagittarius with modeling support from Mark Azevedo and Fabio Passaro. Cover 2 continues the story with the USS Endeavour and uses model support from Georg Angelakis and David Metlesits. Both books are now available for pre-order in print and Kindle editions from Amazon (sans cover preview at this point):

SEEKERS 1: www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-Seeke…
SEEKERS 2: www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-Seeke…

I think my next cover job may be for the e-book sequel, of sorts, to "To Kindle the Unknown" (www.amazon.com/Kindle-Denham-B…. Stay tuned for more details as I get 'em. But for now it looks like a clean, fairly stressless slide into the holidays. With luck I'll be here more often in the coming months.

'Til next time, Happy Holidays and I leave you with… well, the true reason that the Internet was created - so that we could all share in videos of a cat in a shark suit riding on Roomba with duckling accessory and dog dressed as hammerhead. In my world that can also double as the true meaning of Christmas: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Of2HU3…
  • Mood: Artistic
  • Listening to: Bagel Radio
  • Reading: Voyage of the Star Wolf
  • Watching: Cat on a roomba

:) Hopefully it won't be too much longer before the REAL covers go public.

Runemaster says, "SO...a cat, a dog and a duck walk into a bar..."

I laughed so hard at the video, I almost had an asthma attack. Of course, Runemaster's comment didn't help. :)

Can't wait for the books in print. I don't have anything to read the digital stuff on. But, I am hoping to be able to buy print versions of all of the books mentioned in this journal post.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Wow, that cat looks a lot like mine! (See my current avatar, and the pic in my gallery labeled "Prowlin' ".) I doubt that I could ever get mine stuffed into a shark suit, of course.

Is it just me, or do the cat and dog both look like they're plotting revenge against you? "Sure, film us like this now, but just you wait and see how we're getting back at you later..." Come to think of it, cats always have that look.

They do seem to have an oddly calculated agenda behind their eyes, don't they.
Not to mention the duckling.... surely the true puppet-master of the trio!
